House Status
The wood stove has a crack and is temporarily out of service. Replacement too expensive for now; I may try using a high temperature epoxy to try to seal the crack.

The siding guy picked up the paint a day or two ago; his plan is to pre-paint the replacement siding, let it set, and then install it. This avoids any concern that rain would mess up the painting of the siding.

Maybe. I was reading online that a weld job is often as expensive as replacement though.

Do they offer welding classes at your school? If so, you might be able to have an instructor or student weld it as a favor.
People I know who can weld, probably wouldn’t think this is a very big job.
